... on clicking on them or somewhere else.  The only way to close them is to click exactly where you opened it.

Nischay: That patch has been abandoned, and bug 28322 been closed as INVALID. What does that mean for this bug (bug 34337)? The same?

Yes, as per https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28322#c4 this is also INVALID

In case, people are of different opinions we have to get consensus with a vote I guess.
