Description philipp-boehm 2012-02-20 20:57:04 UTC
I'm using the Wikipedia API (de.wikipedia.org/w/api.php) through an ruby library and for two days I get in 3 of 5 queries an error response with error-code "srsearch-text-disabled". This occurs also through the Browser (Chrome, FF) and from different servers.

this is an example response of the query

  http://de.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=search&srsearch=Flashpoint&srprop=timestamp

it produces the following output in 60% of all api calls:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<api servedby="mw25">
  <error code="srsearch-text-disabled" info="text search is disabled" xml:space="preserve">

Other instances of wikipedia are not affected (en, fr) and because of this the api is not usable for me and it would be very nice if that could be fixed.

Philipp: Does this still happen recently?
Comment 2 philipp-boehm 2012-11-18 16:48:00 UTC
No, this was probably a temporary problem. I will close this ticket now.

Great it works now, and thanks for the quick update.
