I didn't notice this on other wikis so far, and I don't know if anyone is watching the page so I'll copy the message from [1]: 1) Enable "Show edit toolbar (requires JavaScript)" on Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing 2) Disable "Enable enhanced editing toolbar" 3) Go to http://labs.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/EmptyPage?action=edit 4) Result: There will be no toolbar at all. 5) Expected result: The old toolbar should be displayed. According to [2], the wiki is using MediaWiki 1.20alpha. The buttons are not shown on debug mode [3] either. On [4], only the extra buttons from [5] are displayed. Think I saw this last night while tracking down some other issues on 1.19 wikis. Testing.
Can't reproduce on simplewiki (which is 1.19), but yes, just saw the same thing on labs.beta and enwiki.beta.
Is this still true? The preference has been completely removed (and then readded, but not live on mediawiki.org yet), see bug 35879. I suppose something may have changed here as well.
Well, if there is not an option "Enable enhanced editing toolbar" anymore, this is now invalid :-)
