Hi. I am using the populating red-linked pages automatically functionality. I have a property with [[Creates pages with form::Interessent]] set. On the property page I can see the red link when a new value for the property is created. However, the page is not being created even after running runJobs.php If I manually click the red link and then perform a runJobs.php, then the page is then created. Obviously this is not automatic as described in the documentation. I have a site with this working running SF 2.2.1. However sites with 2.3.2 or 2.4 do not work. I'm running MW 1.17.2 and SMW 1.5.6. Thanks.
I think this is normal behavior, and so this would be an enhancement request instead of a bug. I'm not sure of the exact reason, but SF seems to require someone to actually view the red link. As far as I know, clicking on it shouldn't be required. If clicking on it is required in your case, can you see if running SMW_refreshData.php resolves the issue? I am using SMW 1.7.0.2, MW 1.18, and SF 2.4, and I have discovered no issues with autocreation of red links, other than someone needing to actually view a red link before it gets added to the job queue. If I remember correctly, I'm using several different methods of defining default forms - do you get different results if you change the method of defining default forms?: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Semantic_Forms/The_%22edit_with_form%22_tab
I have this working fully automatically on a site running SF 2.2.1. The SF documentation says that the page create is placed on the job queue automatically. It should not need a person to view the page to trigger it. That would completely negate the whole point of this functionality, as the person will get presented with the normal create page screen and wonder what on earth is going on. This is no good from a usability perspective. I have the category method set of defining the edit with form. Cheers Neill.
Now that I'm thinking about it, my experience has been that everything always went right into the job queue immediately. I'm not 100% sure of whether viewing it was required or not. Do you have something we could play with to see if the behavior you're experiencing matches what we think should be happening?
Well, it's currently on two client sites. I guess I can create an instance you can play with, but this will take a few days. Cheers Neill.
