MediaWiki 1.19 has been installed on all projects servers, without any annoucement on the projects about incompabilities and detailed informations.

There is annoucement about Steward Election but nothing about such more important changes !

It isn't yet active on almost any of the *pedia projects. And, where it was installed, we posted to the Village Pump. See, for example:

Nothing on https://fr.wikibooks.org !

I don't have to look at other web site to be notified. I want notification on https://fr.wikibooks.org like for Steward Election.

We do not announce upgrades on all projects. The place such announces are made is the wikimedia blog already mentioned by Sam above in comment 1.

You can also add the deployments category RSS feed to you favorite RSS reader

Actually, this time we tried to with [[m:Global_message_delivery]], and even though fr.wikibooks is in [[m:Distribution_list/Global_message_delivery]], the message wasn't delivered.

Adding mz who (I think) is the maintainer so that he can help diagnose.

The global message delivery bot doesn't support LiquidThreads. Either does the Wikimedia Foundation currently, for that matter. ;-)

It looks like <https://fr.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Wikilivres:Le_Bistro&action=edit> actually has some JavaScript in it that auto-redirects users back to the view window if they click the edit tab and there's a large note in the edit window saying "<!-- NEVER EDIT THIS PAGE -->". So I suppose that answers that.
Comment 7 DavidL 2012-03-02 10:38:21 UTC
I corrected the link to Wikilivres:Le_Bistro/Messages_actuels which is where all messages should be written.

rephrased summary
Comment 9 MZMcBride 2012-04-10 22:11:57 UTC
I think this is resolved.
