patch to INSTALL

Please use the patch.
Else they'll look for wiki/wiki .

I'm not the biggest fan of this, since it assumes the /wiki directory. Do we currently have many instances of people not understanding the current directions?

The proposed new message is confusing as well imo.

"Hop into your browser and browse the wiki/index.php you just created."

At the very least that should be "and browse to the wiki/index.php" (I associate browsing an item requires it to be a directory, or something which at least has lots of choices). Additionally the user didn't create that file, tar did.

I also think its a pretty fair assumption that most apaches with php have index.php as one of the default directory listings, making this significantly less of an issue.

patch to INSTALL

Your patch is even worse than the original. Anyone who has extracted MediaWiki into /wiki/index.php has put MW in the wrong place. We DON'T want INSTALL to suggest that's anywhere near a good idea.

All I know is I went looking around for a "wiki" directory in the current directory where INSTALL lives and... never mind.
