Description Brion Vibber 2012-04-12 23:12:18 UTC
(Not to be confused with bug 35777 - sluggish stuttery scrolling under iOS 4.x)

Reported by Rolken on IRC, I can reproduce this on my iPod Touch (retina) running iOS 5.1.

Intermittently, touch scrolling tracks the finger at about half speed -- running the finger across an entire screenfull scrolls by only half a screen instead of a full screen.

This doesn't always seem to happen, and can go in and out during an app session.

Extra data points:

The slowness doesn't arise immediately upon launch. Entering a search and selecting an article can induce slowness in the article selected. This can happen regardless of whether the keyboard is active or dismissed at the time of article selection.

Once an article is slowed, entering and leaving the Settings panel may restore the article to normal scrolling speed, but may not.

If the Languages tab is opened over a slow article, the Languages tab will scroll normally, and upon dismissal, the article may or may not be scrolling normally.

(Very odd.)

I've so far not been able to repro this on my 5.1 device (iPod Touch 4th gen)

Won't do further investigation on this; PhoneGap app is being retired in favor of native apps.
