We don't currently support FLAC that I know of, whether in pure FLAC or Ogg container... would be nice to have originals, but be warned they may not play directly on Commons for now.
Yup these are just for archival, it's okay if they don't play (the lossy OGGs are already up and would be the versions used in articles). Note that several places on Wikimedia Commons explicitly state that FLAC in OGG is supported, although they should be updated to indicate they don't play: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Project_scope/Allowable_file_types http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:File_formats#Ogg My experiments show that Ogg FLACs do validate successfully, but don't playback with any of the players (I know the OGGs are valid because I can stream play them in VLC).
