RE:Aes pararium on german wikisource with no suggestion for RE:Aes p (345.74 KB, image/jpeg)

Description enomil 2012-04-17 12:00:07 UTC
On german Wikisource the Ajax search/MWSuggest does not work for new pages.

Special:New Pages for ns:0 dates back to March 18 (last entry: RE:Aes pararium) which MWSuggest does not show as suggestion in the search field, so the causing error must be older. The search engine itself finds the page [1]. Same for Categories, but the HotCat Gadget finds the newest entries.

Maybe related to older search engine problems at de.ws (Bug 26203).

Switching to search and adding rainman.

So if I understand correctly, pages created after March 18:
* Do show up on Special:NewPages
* Are found through the search engine on Special:Search
* But javascript gadgets and the Vector skin 'auto complete' in the search bar, do not find them (these are all powered by the OpenSearch API).

This is not a search issue, the prefix search for page titles is not related to Lucene. It's most likely related to TitleKey instead.

RE:Aes pararium on german wikisource with no suggestion for RE:Aes p

The screenshot shows the page RE:Aes pararium on german wikisource and a search up to RE:Aes p with no suggestions. The page was created on March 18. I have checked if I get a correct suggestions for pages generated before March 18, for example pages from the beging of february, they are okay. It is hard to determinate the exact date for new pages that are suggest and those who aren't (if it is an issue with a malicious page).

Indexing stopped between 24 Feb. 2012, 20:04 CET and 25 Feb. 2012, 10:50 CET:

Page "BLKÖ:Zon, Angelo Francesco" is generated at 24 Feb. 2012, 20:04 CET and page "BLKÖ:Zona, Anton" at 24 Feb. 2012, 20:04 CET. I only get a suggest for the first one if I type in the search field "BLKÖ:Zon".

Seems to be working again.
