Description Nemo 2012-04-19 16:21:29 UTC
As in normal page moves, although threads are not actually moved. Digging in the history etc. is very tedious.
Comment 1 Alex Monk 2013-02-18 21:20:29 UTC
Um, summary changes?

> Um, summary changes?

You can see them in the log in the URL. Last item is:

    10:11, 17 February 2013 Siebrand (Talk • contribs • block) changed the subject of Thread:Support/About MediaWiki:Wikibase-statementview-referencesheading-pendingcountersubject/nb from "About MediaWiki:Wikibase-statementview-referencesheading-pendingcountersubject/nb" to "About MediaWiki:Wikibase-statementview-referencesheading-pendingcountersubject/en"

Actual thread move (which doesn't change Thread: page title, but parent talk page where the thread is displayed) is:

    04:35, 16 February 2013 Nemo bis (Talk • contribs • block) moved Thread:User talk:Nemo bis/User:Namik from User talk:Nemo bis to User talk:Namik

A normal page move has a revert link:

    09:36, 17 February 2013 Raymond (Talk • contribs • block) moved page MediaWiki:Revcs-error-denied/pl to MediaWiki:Revcs-error-edit-denied/pl without leaving a redirect (Text replace - "Revcs-error-denied" to "Revcs-error-edit-denied") (revert)
Comment 3 Alex Monk 2013-02-18 21:39:30 UTC
So do you want actual thread moves or subject changes to have revert links?

Both... forgive me if this bug is not very clear.
For thread moves it should also be on the confirmation page after the move, for summary changes – I guess – some sort of undo link via JS.

Gerrit change #49790
Comment 6 Alex Monk 2013-02-18 22:52:03 UTC
(I should note that this only does thread moves, not subject changes.)

Where should this be shown, apart from in the log entry?
Comment 8 Gerrit Notification Bot 2013-09-03 13:10:38 UTC
Change 49790 had a related patch set uploaded by Siebrand:
(bug 36098) Add revert link to thread move logs and success page

Comment 9 Gerrit Notification Bot 2013-09-03 17:11:43 UTC
Change 49790 merged by jenkins-bot:

Comment 10 Alex Monk 2013-09-03 17:25:52 UTC
Approved by Siebrand.
Comment 11 Nemo 2014-04-25 20:52:24 UTC
Only now I notice that the "restore" link trickles down to the RC feeds, in the mover's user language:

rakkaudella> [[Special:Log/liquidthreads]] move * Nemo bis * moved Thread:Support/About MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-license-cc-by-sa-3.0-gfdl/en from Support to Translating talk:MediaWiki (ripristina)

I doubt this is correct but it's unlikely anything was broken by it, so we can defer to the adoption of the new log formatter.
