I have attempted to use the HelpCommons extension with a secure link for the help wiki, but it:
1. Either does not work with a secure link
  OR
2. Only works with a secure link on a secure server.

I don't have a secure server, so I can't verify if it is indeed the second.

Sorry. I saw this bug report by chance.

You connected to a Wikimedia server? I can't check that because I have no usable server at the moment.

No, it wasn't tested on a Wikimedia server.
