Description Dhaval 2012-04-29 22:07:15 UTC
Gujarati projects being very small in community size, its not possible to monitor uploaded files, and hence community has decided to allow file uploads only on commons. Community as discussed it long ago there at http://gu.wikipedia.org/wiki/વિકિપીડિયા:ચોતરો_(અન્ય)#ચિત્રો_ચઢાવવા_અંગેની_નીતિ_પર_ફેરવિચાર . And after a discussion involving almost all active users, it was agreed to discontinue local file upload. Users have also agreed not to keep 'fair user' images unless extremelly necessary.

Please leave rights with Sysops to upload file, where in on community's agreement, fair use files could be uploaded by sysops.

Also, please leave the link for Upload File on navigation menu, where, we'll create a guide page, informing users in Gujarati, where and how to upload their files, also, possibly that same page could have enabled link for sysops to upload files.

I guess this is more a remove the "upload" and "reupload" group rights from everyone that is not a sysop as opposed to actually disabling uploading altogether. Marking as shell request and normal priority.

Done
Comment 3 Dhaval 2012-05-03 21:52:44 UTC
Thanks Sam for completing this so soon. As I had mentioned originally, is it possible to have a short description, or a guide page advising non sysop users where and how to upload files?
