Description Fabrice Florin 2012-05-02 07:56:57 UTC
I propose we add this prototype disclaimer to the New Pages Feed, as shown below and illustrated in the attached mockup:

'This is is a prototype, not a final product. Key features are still in development. <Learn more> | <Leave feedback>'

'Learn more' would link to Oliver's FAQ, once we have a link to a first barebones version (we could start with Brandon's design doc for now : http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Page_Triage )

'Leave feedback' would link to the talk page for that FAQ -- or the project hub, or the design doc. (See the AFT talk page as an example.)

Oliver, could you prepare some good URLs for these two links, even if they are just stubs -- and add them to this ticket when they are ready?

"Learn more" - Wikipedia:New Page Triage/Help
"Leave feedback" - Wikipedia talk:New Page Triage
Comment 3 Brandon Harris 2012-05-02 17:08:45 UTC
That's not going to be doable, what you're asking for in that mockup.
Comment 4 Fabrice Florin 2012-05-02 17:25:29 UTC
Thanks, Oliver and Brandon.

The temporary URLs you propose work for me, but let's try to flesh them out a bit before today's 3pm PT deployment. At least include a link to Brandon's MediaWiki page for now, so they can read something about this project until the pages are fleshed out.

In coming days, I recommend that we start using a more generic name that doesn't include Triage, for all the reasons we discussed in our meeting, and outlined in my meeting notes. We want to phase out 'Triage' because it's confusing, with so many other words being used (patrol, review, curation).

Either New_Pages or New_Pages_Feed, or ??

Brandon, if putting the line on top as proposed in my mockup, how about putting it on the next line down, as Kaldari has already done?
Comment 5 Brandon Harris 2012-05-02 17:31:27 UTC
The line below the title is well and good.
Comment 6 Ryan Kaldari 2012-05-02 18:21:02 UTC
We've already changed the title of the Special Page, so let's use:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:New_Pages_Feed/Help
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:New_Pages_Feed

Otherwise, new folks are going to be confused.

We can either create a totally new page or move the old page. I have no preference which.
Comment 7 Oliver Keyes 2012-05-02 18:22:01 UTC
I'll move the old pages in ~45 minutes when I get out of this meeting.
Comment 9 Fabrice Florin 2012-05-02 19:32:27 UTC
Muchas gracias, Kaldari!
