Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It used to display error page which was located in live/404.php, since we use het it's broken + 404.php disappear (obviously there is no documentation or even information that this change was done, so we don't even know who did it) I can recover it from backup, but it's gonna take a while

There is a 404.php file in common-local/live-het/404.php which seems to be the docroot and is linked at /w/ , hence you get the nice 404 error with:

http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/w/404.php

Looking at the beta Apache configuration, we are missing an ErrorDocument statement:

 ErrorDocument 404 /w/404.php

Added in main.conf, still need to reload Apaches though.

Apache restarted, http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/IDONOTEXIST does give a nice 404 error page.
