Search on S60 browser

Search is broken in S60 with the beta skin.

On S60 stock browser

1. Search text is blackened as we type leaving the user not know what is being typed (given most people prefer T9). But when cursor is moved text is visible.

2. Search doesnt happen at all.

I'm not sure what you mean by "beta skin", you mean on the live site http://en.m.wikipedia.org right?
I just tried with my Nokia E75 (Symbian S60v3, or in full: version 202.12.01.236.04), and the site works as it should.

Could you specify which device and which software version you have? I found my version under:
- Main menu;
- then the control panel or something (translated back from Dutch it is 'management panel');
- then 'telephone';
- and lastly 'application management' (when you click it, it suddenly has 'device management' as title).

I meant the live site which just got new looks.

I got E51 with S60v3 with version 220.34.37

What version of opera mini are you using?
Comment 5 Jon 2012-05-04 14:24:50 UTC
Black text problem is fixed in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/6607
It seems that background:none causes a background in black on this device!
Comment 6 Jon 2012-05-07 18:11:47 UTC
Fixed in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/6803/ and https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/6804/
Verified on Nokia N95 S60 (physical device)

I'm hoping this will also fix opera mini problems - if not we should open another ticket specific to those problems
