Description alex.farlie 2012-05-05 09:27:08 UTC
http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Portal:Acts_of_the_Parliament_of_England/Henry_VII

uses http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Template:Statute_table/chapter_long

which passes paramaters down to http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Template:Statute_table/chapter

In the code for Statute Chapter Long prior to a temporary fix,
here http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Template%3AStatute_table%2Fchapter_long&diff=3842270&oldid=3842269

Both Override Chapter and Chapter Num if specified were passed to the lower level
template.

The fix in the markup works, but shouldn't have been needed, as the lower level
template should be doing the EXACT same thing.

No, because with |Override Chapter= you have pass the parameter to the subtemplate and than the default value of a parameter is never used.

use {{#if:{{{Override Chapter|}}}|{{{Override Chapter}}}|c. {{{Chapter Num}}}}} in the subtemplate, than the content of Override Chapter is checked against blank and when blank your default value is used.
