In RC, registered users have ( talk | contribs ) link after the user name and for IP users, only the ( talk ).

Is it not better to have also the ( talk | contribs ) links ?

I think that's because link under the IP address points to IP user contributions (instead of the userpage).

Marcin is correct, IP addresses do not have a user page so clicking on their "name" will take you to the Special:Contributions for them. A feature not a bug. ;)
