What's wrong with using [other]?

I thought it might be better to be as specific as possible, for example

+ if the extension is already in MediaWiki SVN (yes) or git
+ to allow the use of the bugzilla ("list open", "all", "report bug") template on the extensions manual page.
+ because I wanted to file the bug https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37175 for Extension:EditUser .

Absolutely nothing.

for example, when someone maintains that extension. I just added my name to the extension manual page. Then it makes sense to define that extension as an extra component, so that bugs are automatically assigned to the maintainer.

Reset assignee per bug 37789
Comment 6 Andre Klapper 2012-10-12 14:06:07 UTC
Added the extension and added you as default assignee, as listed on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EditUser . Moved bug 37175 to it.

Added Bugzilla links to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EditUser .

In general expecting maintainers to check tickets in the "[other]" component sounds cumbersome.
