Description Jack Phoenix 2012-05-29 08:48:21 UTC
I was logged into labsconsole as [[User:Jack Phoenix]] (UID #47), and I noticed that Special:NovaKey wasn't showing my SSH key. I knew it could sometimes be like that, so I decided to log out and log back in to fix that issue.

However, at the login screen, I forgot to capitalize the 'P' in my username. I entered my password correctly, but instead of MediaWiki whining about invalid user/pass combo or somesuch, I was logged in...to a new account, [[User:Jack phoenix]] (note the lowercase 'p'), UID #395 and 0 edits.

Trying to log in as "Jack Phoenix" logs me in as "Jack phoenix" (account with UID #395).

Ugh. I thought I fixed this bug. I noticed it about a week ago. This was introduced with an LDAP auth change. I'll track this down when I get into Berlin.

This is another side effect of bug 37241. I've put in a temporary workaround for this in the LdapAuthentication configuration, so it should be fixed.
