Description Dario Taraborelli 2012-06-03 13:58:30 UTC
Searching for strings like "10.1016" (DOI prefixes) on some wikis misses articles that should be matched.

For example, searching for this prefix in ns0 of jawiki gives 0 results:

http://ja.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=10.1016

A Google search reveals that there are at least 1,290 results (excluding the template namespace) fron jawiki:

http://bit.ly/LZDLzQ
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ウォルター・エルサッサー

This issue also affects zhwiki and possibly other wikis. It doesn't seem to be a general Unicode bug for non-Latin wikis (as kowiki works as expected, for example) and it doesn't affect most Extended Latin wikis (like enwiki, itwiki, eswiki).

[Merging "MediaWiki extensions/Lucene Search" into "Wikimedia/lucene-search2", see bug 46542. You can filter bugmail for: search-component-merge-20130326 ]
Comment 2 Dario Taraborelli 2013-08-16 17:24:00 UTC
Has anybody tried to identify what's causing this issue?
Comment 3 Chad H. 2014-06-30 19:28:35 UTC
We handle this much better in Cirrus. Marking as WONTFIX since lsearchd has been end-of-lifed, but adding cirrus-fixed tag.
