Please change the link of the logo to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-chr.png. There is no local admin (both are WMF staff and been inactive for years).
The link of the logo? Well, a global sysop, steward, or global interface editor could do this I think, but you would probably need to demonstrate community consensus.
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-chr.png is the logo link. I am also checking the local community and most of the users that have been active in 30 days are bots working project wide (or users who did random vandalism).
Hi, Could you provide URL to the page where you let a message about this issue and offered the change to review to the (non existent?) local community.
I didn't leave a message for the Community, since there was no "community" I could find and effectively speak to about this.
And, most of the non-bot users are either making global userpages for themselves or replacing local images with those of the Commons. But what I probably need to do is find out what characters are even used in the logo to make a version 2.0 of the logo (and use the Commons copy).
The wiki seems indeed inactive. The last message which got a reply were this one 2 years ago: http://chr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E1%8F%AB%E1%8E%A9%E1%8F%87%E1%8F%97%E1%8F%AF:%E1%8E%BE%E1%8E%A5_%E1%8F%84%E1%8E%BE%E1%8F%93%E1%8E%B8_%E1%8E%BE%E1%8E%BF%E1%8E%A2#Article_request Removing 'shellpolicy' keyword, adding 'shell' keyword. Taking this bug.
Dear Zachary, I'm sorry, it seems I haven't understood your request yet. In a first time, I thought you wanted I change the default Wikipedia logo. Then, I saw it's already this logo on the page: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The commons logo I thought you wish to print: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/98/Wikipedia-logo-chr.png The current logo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/chr/b/bc/Wiki.png ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Logos link to the homepage, not a description page. So could you provide: - the URL of the page where the logo is ; - if not immediate, the instructions to find the link on this page ; - the procedure you would have followed if you were sysop on this wiki. In the case the third item is feasible, Krenair is right: > The link of the logo? Well, a global sysop, steward, or global interface editor > could do this I think, but you would probably need to demonstrate community > consensus. I'd like also to stress the kind of requests we do at operations level is mainly to edit the wiki's configuration files (namespaces, extensions configuration, user groups, etc.). For the other changes, meta. is more the place where to find assistance, as it doesn't require nor development nor operations tasks.
I been told to go to Bugzilla if I wanted to have the logo point from a local page (wiki.png) to an image on the Commons.
I still don't understand what you want exactly. You plan to change the logo in the future, and you would like we already edit the config, so it points to the file on Commons?
Yes.
Ok. Code review: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/11741
The logo at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-chr.png is not protected against edition. Please have it protected and then we will be able to change the wiki logo.
The logo is now protected.
Deployed on live site.
