I am using the Windows 8 Release Preview (amd64), and when I try to pin an article to my start page using the Wikipedia Metro app, it doesn't get pinned. I can provide more information from this particular machine if requested in the next few days. wilhorst@microsoft.com
I'm unable to reproduce this. Pinning "Elizabeth II" to my start page works fine.
The following was sent to me by email (as a reply to the bugzilla notification), but I think it should be here instead: > I messed with this some more. It looks like what's happening is: there's a delay between when the app bar appears and when the app bar is click-able. If I wait three seconds after right-clicking to open the app bar, it works properly. If I click right away on the pin icon or any other icon, it treats it as though I clicked the scroll bar (which is behind the app bar), and scrolls to the side a bit. > I can't get the same thing to happen in an analogous case with several other apps (Bing Weather, Skydrive, Cheat Sheet, LA Times, USA Today, Tweetro, Bing Finance), so this would seem to be something particular to the Wikipedia app. Does this repro on your machine? I can't test this right now as I don't have access to my Windows VM, but will be able to later.
No, I can't reproduce this either. As soon as the app bar appears it's clickable for me... System details are Windows 8 Release Preview 32-bit running in VirtualBox.
Shifting to proper component and closing as 'works for me', since could not be reproduced. If it continues on the final version of Windows 8 please reopen!
