Description Antoine "hashar" Musso (WMF) 2012-06-14 15:52:38 UTC
On June 12th, I have attempted deleting several instances from the deployment-prep project:

deployment-apache20 i-0000026c
deployment-apache21 i-0000026d
deployment-apache22 i-0000026f
deployment-apache23 i-00000260

They were still listed today and listed as Running though the NovaResource link is a red link.

Attempting to delete them again give the following error message:

Successfully deleted instance, but failed to remove deployment-apache20 DNS entry.

Same happens for the dumps project's dumps-2.
Comment 2 Ryan Lane 2012-06-14 22:37:24 UTC
This was due to the IP switch. Rabbitmq very much disliked the change. I purged its data (which isn't persistent in nova's use case) and restarted it, then restarted all of the openstack services. This made them active again.

Deletes should now work properly.
