Description Yuvi Panda 2012-06-16 00:07:55 UTC
Quoting user email,

When i open wikipedia and press the capacitive search button, only the first letter of the word i Swype will show up. If I manually tap the search field and Swype whatever I am searching for, then there is no problem. Only when pressing the search button on my phone and then Swyping will only the first letter show up instead of the whole word. For reference, I have an HTC Droid incredible (with Android 4.0.4) Thank you.

And no, this doesn't happen on any other application. Only this one.

Another report of this:
"Entry in the search field must be keyed in individually, a letter at a time. Using Swype it only picks up the first letter of the word. While this may seen like an issue outside of your app, all other apps accept entry via Swype without error. So there must be something about key handling in the Wikpedia app that is not accepting entry in this way."

Swype insert an entire word, instead of char by char.

We won't do much further work on the PhoneGap app so if this is still a problem, it'll remain for now. Will be replaced with a native app soon.
