I have seen some edits (typical by vandals that don't change the overall character count of an article by much) being tagged as a huge number, typically the size of the current page, when listed in the watchlist, but which doesn't appear this way in the history page.  (One edit I know was this case was this diff on en.wiki [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Powerpuff_Girls&diff=498449673&oldid=498449648] - the diff is only 163 characters, but the watchlist change reported 40,000+)
