Description jeremyb 2012-06-24 02:14:59 UTC
Footer disclaimer on copy of your own msg (from [[special:emailuser]]) only makes sense for recipient.

I can't tell if this belongs in Email or General?

STR:
* go to [[special:emailuser/${username}]]
* ensure mw-input-wpCCMe ("""E-mail me a copy of my message.""") is checked, fill the rest of the form, submit

Result:
The email sent to the sender says (in part) """If you respond, the sender will know your e-mail address.""" Obviously that makes no sense. I am the sender so the sender already knows my address.

btw, this was observed a few mins ago on enwiki.

looks like all wikis are currently 1.20wmf5 and the corresponding git branch hasn't changed in a couple days. it's HEAD is currently b7285216fcb5e4778bbc6c359db7d260b6ceb02a
Comment 2 Siebrand Mazeland 2012-08-06 10:34:40 UTC
Isn't this what is to be expected when receiving a COPY of a message you send to someone else? You get that message, and that whole message, as a (B)CC.

Assuming there is agreement, this report could be WFM/INVALID.

jeremyb: Could you answer comment 2, please?
Comment 4 Platonides 2012-12-16 19:53:39 UTC
Also seems invalid to me. It could be changed to "If you respond, $SENDER will
know your e-mail address." if that makes it clearer.
Comment 5 Siebrand Mazeland 2012-12-16 20:01:28 UTC
Closing as invalid per comment 2 and support on comment 4.
