Sometimes, we want to reset an item to some previous state. In standard mediawiki, this is done by loading the old revision's wikitext into the editor and saving it. We need the same ability for data items.

Note that reverting is a special case of resetting: it resets to the last revision by a user different from the user who did the last edit.
