Currently in the iOS app the overlay with the selected reference overlays the tab bar. I'm not 100% sure, but this might violate Apple's UI guidelines (which can get you booted from the store).

Might be safer to put it above the tab bar.

We won't do further work on the PhoneGap-based app, will replace it with a native app (which won't have a bottom toolbar, and if it did it owuld be outside the webview).
