Description Itzik Edri 2012-07-08 22:24:36 UTC
Hi,

We need to open a new mailing list (already active on wikimedia.ch) to discussing cultural partnerships (part of the glam). The name of the list is "cultural-partnerships-l"

Please send the admin password to Shani (shani.even@gmail.com).

Thanks,
Itzik

Hi, we are dropping the -l for all new mailing lists per out standardisation, http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Standardization.

Therefore, the new list email address would be cultural-partnerships@lists - can you confirm this is OK?

it's ok

I've looked into information on Outreach Wiki about both of the mailing lists. Would I be correct in saying that glam@ is to be used for the majority of discussion and cultural-partnerships-l@ is used typically between Wikimedians for private discussion about projects etc that should be private or have not been made public yet?

If this is the case, might I suggest that this new cultural-partnerships-l is renamed to glam-internal@ or glam-private@ instead so that it is in line with all the other GLAM related lists (glam@ and glam-US@ currently)?

After a discussion among list members, there wasn't consensus for this move (correct me if I'm wrong).
