Some project have lot of instances and several people using them. It would be nice to have a freeform field to describe the instance when it is created.  That text could eventually get populated in motd.d to be shown to the user when it log in.

I think just a change in how we manage instance pages. Info about the pages can be in a subpage that's transcluded, or the code that's editing it could use tags for the section of the page that it manages.
