Description Peter Bena 2012-08-06 17:42:48 UTC
It doesn't work

19:17:06) <petan|wk> I can't use sudo
(19:17:20) <petan|wk> I don't even know what happened
(19:17:28) <petan|wk> was it migrated?
(19:17:29) Multiple results found, refine your input please: Amgine, aude, Alchimista, andrewbogott, awjr,
(19:17:29) Multiple results found, refine your input please: Amgine, aude, Alchimista, andrewbogott, awjr,
(19:17:32) <petan|wk> andrewbogott
(19:18:00) <andrewbogott> petan|wk: I'm sure it was migrated. But, lemme see...
(19:18:19) <petan|wk> ok
(19:18:26) <petan|wk> I can't use sudo su
(19:18:31) <petan|wk> it refuses my password
(19:18:32) <andrewbogott> labsconsole hates me today, so I'm somewhat crippled.
(19:18:37) <petan|wk> but I am pretty sure it's ok
(19:20:48) <andrewbogott> petan|wk, are you able to log out and in to labsconsole? (Wondering if credentials are broken altogether.)
(19:20:53) <petan|wk> yes
(19:21:08) <petan|wk> console works but sudo doesn't
(19:22:12) <petan|wk> andrewbogott can you use sudo there?
(19:22:21) <petan|wk> if so I need to do this
(19:22:28) <andrewbogott> petan|wk: I wasn't a member, just added myself. Will take a minute to refresh.
(19:22:58) <andrewbogott> btw, I presume that sudo is broken for you on all the bots machines?
(19:23:40) <petan|wk> kill 2307 2314
(19:23:40) <petan|wk> sudo su wmib
(19:23:40) <petan|wk> cd
(19:23:40) <petan|wk> nohup mono bouncer.exe &
(19:23:40) <petan|wk> nohup sh restart.sh &
(19:23:46) <petan|wk> andrewbogott I don't know
(19:24:22) <petan|wk> yes
(19:24:27) <petan|wk> I can't use it on any
(19:24:39) <Damianz> Broke for me too on bots-1 and bots-cb
(19:24:56) <Damianz> On the bright side, Ryan has a super secret login as root trick IIRC
(19:24:58) <petan|wk> andrewbogott I really need to execute these commands
(19:25:11) <petan|wk> andrewbogott if you can sudo there, please execute them
(19:25:42) <Damianz> I was looking at ZeroMQ the other day, could make for awesome bot control stuff :D
(19:27:01) <^demon> I heard someone complaining about labsconsole ldap stuff earlier, wonder if we've got an ldap problem.
(19:27:13) labs-home-wm!~labs-home@208.80.153.192 just joined the channel
(19:27:43) <Damianz> Actually, that *probably* wouldn't affect logins for us as we'd be in the cache
(19:27:50) <Damianz> But would explain sudo borking
(19:27:59) <petan|wk> Damianz I would be really happy to either know that password on my projects or I will create secondary root
(19:28:02) <andrewbogott> Y'all know that the entire Tampa datacenter fiber was cut a couple of hours ago, right? So, things are mostly back online but the other ops are busy busy busy
(19:28:20) <andrewbogott> I do not seem to be able to sudo either.
(19:28:34) <petan|wk> andrewbogott do you know the password of root?
(19:28:48) <^demon> Damianz: It'd explain why someone complained about not being able to reset their password. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Developer_access#There_was_either_an_authentication_database_error_or_you_are_not_allowed_to_update_your_external_account.
(19:28:50) <^demon> :)
(19:28:54) <andrewbogott> Not sure there is one. But, lemme try alternate routes.
Comment 1 Ryan Lane 2012-09-05 20:03:20 UTC
I'd have to imagine this is fixed.
Comment 2 Peter Bena 2013-05-16 09:48:52 UTC
it is not! Russell Blau on bots project was just added to a group of sudoers who should be able to switch to root on bots-dev1 but he isn't
