Description db [inactive,noenotif] 2012-08-06 17:48:46 UTC
Getting a "502 Bad Gateway" on https is bad, it is possible to get also the "Wikimedia has a technical problem, please donate" page as the http version shows? Thanks.

Seen at the outage today.
Comment 1 Andre Klapper 2012-11-17 15:08:13 UTC
Good steps to reproduce welcome (URLs!), as I don't remember "the outage today" from three months ago...
Comment 2 db [inactive,noenotif] 2012-11-17 19:18:14 UTC
I hope it is impossible to reproduce this to often, because every time you can reproduce this, wikipedia is down/unreachable.

I cannot give a url, because wikipedia is actually running nice.

Hehe, yeah. I guess what I wanted to say is that it is helpful if such reports include specific information or maybe a screenshot.
Let's wait for the next breakdown. Or not. :)
Comment 4 Nemo 2013-03-29 17:52:43 UTC
A simple way to reproduce is adding too many templates and hitting preview.

(similar: Bug 36498, linking to related RT ticket)
Comment 6 MZMcBride 2013-07-25 21:16:34 UTC
Bug 50891 has a screenshot.
Comment 7 Derk-Jan Hartman 2013-08-31 22:47:54 UTC
OPS team, would this problem still occur ???? Somewhat more important now that all logged in users are on https I presume, raising importance to high.
Comment 8 Andre Klapper 2013-10-31 18:06:16 UTC
RT #5021 about "More meaningful Varnish 5xx page" is resolved as "This is already done."
So this might be obsolete?
Comment 9 matanya 2013-11-20 15:27:01 UTC
too old, doesn't seem to have reproduced in the last outage. Closing.
