Description Yair Rand 2012-08-16 01:23:58 UTC
Language names in less-relevant languages should have lower priority in the autocomplete function of the ULS. For example, if a user's language in set to French and "es" is typed in, it's autocompleted as the English word for "Estonian", as opposed to either the French or Spanish words for "Spanish", or the French word for "Estonian". Users are much less likely to be searching for a language in neither the target language nor the selected language, so languages names in other languages should be gives lower priority. (Native names should probably also be given higher priority than names in the selected language.)

Hi Yair. We've discussed this issue, and we're not going to implement this suggestion. The auto-completion is simply a helper. The filtering takes place in the part of the screen below.

The ULS landing page that we're currently developing will also feature a list of suggested languages, sorted by (some) importance, consisting of your web browser's accept languages, language spoken in your area based on geo IP (in available), and locales used in the past.
