Ok, bug 39769 might be a symptom of a more general problem: Sometimes when browsing by country, drilling down results in some strange mash-up view like the attached. It seems the app is trying to track the drill-down path and somehow puts all of that on one screen. What I saw in bug 39769 was the opposite: all of the entries in one admin level were shown in the incomplete upload list, not the drill-down path.

I've seen this in the beta but haven't seen it since. We need a reliable way to reproduce this before it can be fixed.
It is consistent for me when using Germany=>North RHine-Westphalia=>Koln=>Koln=>any, take a photo and save for later. On the Incomplete Uploads screen it looks like the attached.

Looking at this again, in fact the bug that was reported here originally was a different issue - all admin levels appearing together instead of the monuments when drilling down. That was cleared up by clearing data on my Nexus One, Android 2.3.6. However, the bug that was marked as invalid, 39769, cropped up again in v1.2, and that is now captured by the latest screenshot and the comment above by Jon. So this bug has become 39769. Changing the title of this bug to match the mingle story 208.
