Description Pau Giner 2012-09-03 11:19:02 UTC
Some languages are capitalized and others are not (e.g., "español" vs. "English") in the list of languages. The capitalized version ("Español") would be preferred.

from langdb.yaml

es: [Latn, [EU, AM, AF, WW], español]

  it: [Latn, [EU], italiano]

I guess it is with lower case in CLDR, but Amir can confirm this.

Comment 3 Niklas Laxström 2012-09-03 14:54:44 UTC
Those can be uppercased programmatically when appropriate.
Comment 4 Siebrand Mazeland 2012-09-03 15:20:24 UTC
We've had this discussion a few times on MediaWiki core. Autonyms have their form. That may be a capital, a Hani character or a Devanagari character. Forcefully capitalising Latin script autonyms make them incorrect.

This should be WONTFIX.
