searched page for 'Richard Sears' (a movie director) there came up some 'sears', no 'richard sears', and no references to any works by him. looked up that iconic work (not his best though...) 'Bongwater' The movie has a page In the infobox (not in the article), 'Richard Sears' is given as the director. Search did not find that. Does search not look into 'infobox' areas? I would have expected to get a lot of his work, and to see that Cannes award where he represented America in an area in 1995 where it did not do that well otherwise. Just a question to how search treats 'infobox' type of content (containers). thx Mike
Hi Mike, thanks for reporting this. I get correct results for "Richard Sears" on en.wikipedia.org, both when entering in the small search box in the upper right corner, and in the main search dialog. Can you still reproduce the problem, and if so, could you provide steps to reproduce?
[Merging "MediaWiki extensions/Lucene Search" into "Wikimedia/lucene-search2", see bug 46542. You can filter bugmail for: search-component-merge-20130326 ]
The old search didn't look in templates as reported. Since the old search has reached its end of life I am marking this WONTFIX. We don't have this problem in Cirrus since we expand all wikitext.
