Could you clarify your report?

It's a little hard to explain, but last night I had to reset my Windows 7 computer to it's original factory settings, and afterwards I was re-installing Mozilla Firefox only to find that many of the other Wiki sites that I've saved the links to now have incredibly slow loading times. The thing about that is that the main Wikipedia site itself is unaffected (as well as other non-Wiki websites), but these other Wiki sites people have made are affected, and I would not be surprised if other ones that I haven't gone to are now like this as well. I've just been trying everything I can to make these sites run faster and have been very frustrated that I can't find an answer anywhere, because I don't think there should be any reason why these sites should have to run so slowly, but not other sites. I wish I could tell you more, but I have no idea how or why it's happening or what to do about it.

If you visit a wiki for the second time, is it faster then? Does the slowness only occur on wikis that you haven't visited since you reinstalled?

If so, that's expected behavior, because part of the front-end performance of MediaWiki depends on your browser caching things, so that once it's loaded them it stores them and doesn't have to load them again. This is slow on the initial load, and fast for subsequent loads.

I guess that would make sense. Some of them were loading a bit faster when I tried going back to them again, but they still seem kind of picky about it cause one minute one of them is loading faster, but then a minute later it's slow again. It just seems very on/off right now.

Just so you all know, this problem still isn't fixed for me!

These problems are traditionally hard to track down - which continent are you located on, which browser do you use, which exact websites does this refer to, and is this still an issue?

I'm in the United States, using Mozilla Firefox (though I've also seen them run slow under Internet Explorer), and it's basically any wiki sites that aren't the main Wikipedia site, Wiktionary, or any of the Nintendo related Wikis such as Bulbapedia, Super Mario Wiki, Zelda Wiki, Wiikirby, Smash Wiki, etc.

Currently the problem seems to be getting better, but I may have to get back to you if it continues.

Not site request and if it's not Wikimedia projects it's not valid for this bug tracker I'm afraid. If you have specific examples of a non-Wikimedia site and you think it's MediaWiki's fault, please file under MediaWiki with the details about the site in question.
