Description Bolatbek 2012-10-05 14:57:01 UTC
Kazakh Wikipedia (kk.wikipedia)

Latin characters are not displayed correctly when viewed pages on the browsers Opera and Explorer.

Example: Words are highlighted in yellow must be in Latin: http://saveimg.ru/pictures/02-04-12/1c3767445ba74824717ef28232d60ca1.PNG
Example word:
Һартсуоод Філмс -> Hartswood Films

Additional:
  Displayed correctly: Firefox, Chrome
  Displayed incorrectly: Opera, Explorer

Thanks.

Cannot reproduce with Firefox 15.0.1 and (WebKit based) Epiphany 3.2.2 on http://kk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A8%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%BA (e.g. "Hartswood Films" in the first sentence).

Which exact versions of Opera and Internet Explorer does this not work with?
Comment 2 Bolatbek 2012-10-05 15:22:18 UTC
Opera 11.64, Internet Explorer 8.

Displayed correctly: Google Chrome 19.
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2012-10-05 15:32:30 UTC
No problem either with Opera 12.02 under Fedora 16 here.
Comment 4 Bolatbek 2012-10-05 15:49:21 UTC
Now I have Opera 11.64

If I look a wiki page using anonymizers (server USA and other), it is correct.

Everyone who views a page in Kazakhstan has a problem. Why is that?

If I look Ru.wikipedia, which also uses the Cyrillic, latin characters are displayed correctly.
Comment 5 Bolatbek 2012-10-06 17:27:48 UTC
The problem disappears when you log into the system.

Could you paste a link to a discussion where others write that they have the same problem? Might help to gather more information.
