On [[Special:RecentChangesLinked]], checked "Associated namespace", if Namespace is talk, can't associated main namespace.

see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?namespace=1&associated=1&target=Category%3AWikipedia+featured+articles&tagfilter=&title=Special%3ARecentChangesLinked

shi zhao, I'm having trouble understanding you. I think what you're saying is one of the following, so please tell me which one, or correct me if I'm wrong.

A) On [[Special:RecentChangesLinked]], you can check the "Associated namespace" checkbox. But if you've chosen the "Talk" item from the "Namespace" dropdown, then it's impossible to check the "Associated namespace" checkbox.

B) On [[Special:RecentChangesLinked]], you can check the "Associated namespace" checkbox. But if you've chosen the "Talk" item from the "Namespace" dropdown, and you've checked the "Associated namespace" checkbox, then you should also see the main (article) namespace represented in the "Related changes" listing, but you don't.

I tried checking that checkbox and I was able to to so, so I think you mean option B. Please confirm that, or let me know what you meant, so we can proceed. Thanks.

Yes, is B.

Alex, could you take a look at this? Thanks.

I think I can confirm this bug. The subjectpages for the talks are included if one selects another talk namespace, e.g. now I see

I had a look but was unable to figure it out, sorry.

Waldir, Umherirrender, could one of you possibly develop a patch?
Comment 7 Umherirrender 2012-10-15 16:19:17 UTC
Sounds like bug 37118/bug 12889

Associated namespace makes only sense at the moment when both pages are in the category or both pages linked from the page.
