Description Julien Dethurens 2012-10-10 05:40:37 UTC
On the Wikimedia Blog, the title argument of the search box is "Search Wikipedia [f]", which clearly makes no sense, because, last time I checked, the Wikimedia Blog wasn't Wikipedia...

The bug is easy to find: just go on any page of the Wikimedia Blog (blog.wikimedia.org) and hover the mouse over the search box. The tooltip with "Search Wikipedia [f]" will appear.

Gerrit change #27421
Comment 3 Sumana Harihareswara 2012-10-12 18:34:13 UTC
Patch is merged. Krenair, do you know when the updated code will be deployed?
Comment 4 Alex Monk 2012-10-12 18:40:28 UTC
No. I was actually going to ask the same thing myself.
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2012-11-26 13:51:35 UTC
Still valid. How to get code deployed on blog.wikimedia.org?
Comment 6 Alex Monk 2012-12-25 21:04:50 UTC
Andre, could you ask around in WMF about how to get that done? No one seems to know...

It turns out that while the code was migrated to Gerrit, none of the deploy was instrumented to use it. There've been no patches to it until last month (December), so there was no need to visit this oversight. (In the past Guillaume kept the theme and extension up-to-date).

Rob Halsell has been maintaining the opsadmin behind the blog (keeping the extensions and WordPress up-to-date, etc.). He'll see what he can do about configuring deploy from Gerrit in a week or two. I validated the patch doesn't break anything on my personal wpmu site.

Sorry for the delay. Nice catch, Julien. Nice patch, Alex.

:-)

I have updated the blog theme directory for WP-victor to properly update and git pull off our gerrit repo for this theme.

In the future, any operations team member can now update this theme with a simple git pull in the theme directory.

Change is now live.
