Current situation:
Click search area
Keyboard shows up AND disappears,
Tap input to type and search

Expected:
Click search area
No need to tap again to type and search

Apparently this has got worse
"Now it becomes that i can't search TOTALLY again (other than the tap-twice
problem.

The keyboard keeps showing up and then disappearing."

This code was overdue a long rewrite. The patch in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/58332 makes it require two taps to search on Windows Phone 7 as it seems you cannot force a focus of an input in javascript. However it is usable..
