To reproduce: Go to the Commons site in the beta cluster. Don't log in. Go to the sandbox:

http://commons.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Sandbox&action=edit&redlink=1

Try adding some test text in the body and in the summary. Hit the "Save page" button.

Result:

Must have been intermittent. Works now.
Comment 2 Alex Monk 2012-10-12 22:17:23 UTC
It just happened to me while logging in.

Just like the production cluster, there is a load balancer. When navigating the site a squid is semi-randomly chosen from a pool.

squid001 is the problematic one. And it appears to only fail for POST request (logging in, saving/previewing edits, changing user rights etc.)
Comment 5 Antoine "hashar" Musso (WMF) 2012-10-17 21:21:38 UTC
Beta has only one squid which load balance requests to two apaches instances: deployment-apache32 and deployment-apache33.

If someone is wiling to investigate, the instance is deployment-squid , logs are in /var/log/squid.

Might have ended up being fixed somehow or it was an intermittent failure. We have some edits being done on the wikis via Selenium and there is no such error anymore :]
