Description Daniel Kinzler 2012-10-16 10:48:03 UTC
Since the new complex job queue was merged into core, I think there should be a bugzilla component for it. Already, we have the first bug to report: bug 41075.
Comment 1 Andre Klapper 2012-10-16 12:34:09 UTC
This would be product=MediaWiki & component=JobQueue ?
Where can I read more about the job queue? (e.g. I need a description.)
Is a default assignee for that component wanted, or would the default be "Nobody"?
Comment 2 Daniel Kinzler 2012-10-16 16:07:18 UTC
Yes, product=MediaWiki & component=JobQueue.

The old job queue is described at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Job_queue

The general description is still valid, but since yesterday, it's more powerful, see I49824c7f. I don't think there is any high level documentation for the new design (poke Aaron, I'd love to read that).

The default assignee would be wikibugs-l, as for most core components.
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2012-10-16 16:39:22 UTC
Created component:
JobQueue Job queue (available since 1.21)

Moved bug 41075.

thanks!
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2012-10-25 20:52:53 UTC
Daniel: Would it make sense to have a person as default CC for reports in that component?

If you find someone to volunteer :) But generally, I'd prefer a mailing list, where bug reports are visible to many. Stuff reported to the wikibugs list also show up on IRC, which is a good thing.
