When I go to the [[Special:Ask]] page (semantic search) a blank page appears: * http://cordoba.nuestraciudad.info/portal/Especial:Ask Inline queries work without problems. Validator version is 0.5 (release), MediaWiki version is 1.19.2. I tried it with Firefox and Midori, with the same result. JavaScript is not blocked. There are no related entries in error_log.
I'm only guessing here but since your working a with Spanish version of Special:Ask (which is translated as Especial:Ask). Could it be that somehow the assigned Special page alias point somewhere else (in the above case nowhere)? I checked [1] which works, so ... Thank you for answering. I have tried to access Special:Ask by clicking the link on the [[Special:SpecialPages]] ([[Especial:PaginasEspeciales]]) page. It gives me the same error. However I am not sure if I understand the question right or if I can do another kind of testing to resolve this issue.
The above was merely a statement of assumptions because as for now I have not a clue as to why Especial:Browse works and Especial:Ask doesn't. I tried a local test installation with [1] and [2] URL worked just fine on a SMW 1.8/MW 1.21 system. [1] $wgLanguageCode = "es"; [2] .../index.php/Especial:Ask Unless someone has a good idea what is going wrong, I can't really confirm (looking at the above local test) that there is a problem with SMW neither can't I deny that their is a problem as seen in [3]. [3] http://cordoba.nuestraciudad.info/portal/Especial:Browse Anyone else have some ideas? ## Other notes Special:Ask derives from class SMWAskPage extends SMWQuerySpecialPage Special:Browse derives from class SMWSpecialBrowse extends SpecialPage
Empty pages in some server configurations just mean "any PHP error, database error, or exception". It can also mean "out of memory", but this is not too likely when just opening an empty special page. We need to get more information on this to do something. Can you try to get any error report? Which exact version of SMW are you using? Did you update recently? Are you using SQLStore2 or SQLStore3? Any other unusual configuration options? Can you retrace when the error first occurred?
Problem is resolved. It was an outdated version of Semantic Result Formats (1.7) which caused the problems. I have revised my error_log and found various SRF-related PHP errors there. After installing the latest SRF code from git Special:Ask seems to work again. I apologize for the bug report.
