Besides, the user mentions having uploaded multiple photos on https://commons.wikimedia.org/?diff=prev&oldid=79963180 , however this is the only one appearing (well after the comment, so maybe first UploadWizard upoad failed completely).

Not sure how the URL is related to this - do you refer to the file history and broken thumbnails for previous versions?
(Also this report misses steps to reproduce - just using UploadWizard?)
Might also be a "MediaWiki extensions/Upload Wizard" issue...

Yes. Whether the bad thing is that the original got lost, or that we're shown this ugly useless error message, I don't know.

To find out is exactly the purpose of filing this bug, users are not able to. ;)
