Description Tisza Gergő 2012-10-28 06:39:52 UTC
After clicking on "Save and open next", there is no cursor in the newly opened translation field (even though it is focused). I need to move the focus away and back to get a cursor.

Seen on Meta, while translating to Hungarian, with Chrome 22 on Windows 7.

Is there anything I can do or is this a browser bug?
Comment 2 Tisza Gergő 2012-11-10 04:43:32 UTC
Might be a browser bug, I don't know. But I haven't encountered it with other applications (and focusing to a field is not exactly a rare feature), so it must be triggered by the Translate extension doing something in an unusual way. (Just guessing blindly, but maybe the focus event happens earler than the field becoming visible?)

Is the same behaviour observed when clicking "skip and open next" (that's a less destructive test scenario :P).

I can confirm the behaviour on Chrome 24.0.1312.5 dev on OSX 10.8.2.

Yes. Also when clicking on the message name in the left column to start editing.

It seems to be related to the prefetch feature; when I get the AJAX spinner, the cursor appears, when I do not (I belive that is when the previous message has been opened for editing already?), there is no cursor.

This is about the old translation editor, which doesn't get any more bug fixes.

I haven't seen this issue in the current translation editor.
