Description Bartosz Dziewoński 2012-10-30 15:24:51 UTC
[[Special:Version/Credits]]'s headings are not translateable.

I understand it's because they come from the raw text file, but it's nothing a few preg_replaces couldn't fix.

Personally, I think this is where we should draw the line and not "fix" this. It is what it is, a glorified text file, and it doesn't and shouldn't have to be anything more than that.
Comment 3 Marius Hoch 2012-12-05 23:11:09 UTC
Though I can see the point that this change maybe is a bit to much as /Credits is a rather static page which isn't to important to the users still translating this doesn't hurt much. I personally didn't care to much, but as I caused this bug and no one seemed to oppose fixing it I took care of this now to not make the software worse...

It would be great if someone could state that a bug shouldn't be fixed before someone wastes his/ her time on it as doing this properly costed me some time I could have spent better.

Advising to close bug as WONTFIX and to abandon the patch set. Apologies for the work done that's, at least in my opinion, not for the better.

There's a s**tload of i18n issues that do need to be addressed. See for example http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2012-December/064944.html. In next Thursday's Wikimedia Open Tech Chat ( https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Meetings/2012-12-13 ) there will also be some i18n and translation related topics.
