Description PiRSquared17 2012-10-30 16:08:44 UTC
Hello, I would like to report what I think is a glitch: When I try to add accented letters (example: é) in the "alias" box, I get the accent followed by the accented letter (example: ´é) instead. Does anyone else have this problem?

(Sorry if I'm not adding this correctly, I really have no idea what this website is or how it works.)

Could you elaborate on your input method? Does é exist on your keyboard, or do you use e.g. dead keys to combine e and the Unicode character U+0341?

I used the Mac default keyboard setup, QWERTY, and typed OPTION-e then e.

Which browser are you using? I cannot replicate this.

I'm using Firefox 16.0.2. (latest stable version as of time of posting)
Example: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q4878&diff=270251&oldid=270249

I typed exactly: J, u, r, a, c, OPTION-e, a, n

Result: Jurac´án
Expected: Juracán

No error in (works correctly in): Safari, Chrome

Hope this helps.

Sorry. Tried on Mac, FF16, and works for me with using the German keyboard with the ´ key followed by e. Which keyboard is being used?
