Description Nemo 2012-11-01 12:25:29 UTC
Linking a list of almost five thousands translators of all sorts https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:ListUsers/translator is not that useful. Here are some ideas.
A list of relevant translators can be produced from code comments (which are maintained by localisation update), whether
A) dynamically by the special page code (with caching), or
B) with some script to create a list like CREDITS that should then only be parsed.
Things we could do:
1) list only MediaWiki translators,
2) filter them to list only translators for core and installed extensions,
3) filter them to list only translators to the wiki's language.

We should also show the (user)names on the page itself, it's not nice to link somewhere else. The current implementation gives no justice to the amount of translators there are.

True, changed summary. I also think giving fair credit to our translators (i.e. no less than patch authors) can't be low priority; and this is not hard to implement, Special:SupportedLanguages already has the code for most of it.
