Description Steven Walling 2012-11-06 07:33:36 UTC
If a user opens a new Wikipedia tab (to the same or different page) immediately after submitting an edit succesfully, PostEdit is displayed on the new tab rather than the previous one.

This is not entirely a ux disaster, since the user knows they saved an edit a moment ago, but it is slightly unexpected behavior from an on-page notification.

Ori mentioned that this is likely tied to the way we detect post-edit state, which is agnostic to the page in question in some fashion, rather than tied to the exact referrer.

Just to note: I've seen this on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
